Hospital Pictures

So here are a few pictures from the hospital. Some people have asked about the det

ails so I will give you some, just not the yucky ones. :) So since I was being induced I was told to call the hospital at 6:00 a.m. I guess it was a busy night because they kept telling me to call back. Finally at 9:00 a.m. I could go in. They weren't in any hurry so they didn't hook me up to the pitocin until 11:00 a.m. Brian and were getting pretty antsy by then. Now with Elise I was induced also but with her I was determined to go natural so I did for about 6 hours and then broke down for the epidural. And 2 hours after I got it Elise was born. So I figured if I got the epidural pretty soon I would have this baby around the same amount of hours. So pretty much every time my nurse came in I would mention things like, " So epidurals are really nice." etc. I'm pretty sure I made it clear I wanted one. I still didn't get one for a few hours, but I wasn't feeling contractions. I think I had the epidural for around 5 hours. I was in labor for about 11 1/2 hours! A lot longer than with Elise. This kid just didn't want to come! Around hour 10 her heart rate started to drop with every contraction so they tried repositioning me several times and they game me some oxygen. It took about an hour before her heart rate started to come back up. No one (including the doctor) wanted to say it be we were all thinking I would need a c-section. Thankfully she bounced back and around that time my epidural ran out! So I was feeling a lot of stuff, but I was at 10 cm. So they gave a shot in my IV to take the edge off and refilled my epidural thingy. And I started to push, thankfully I pushed 3 times and she was here. I was in labor and delivery so long I went through 3 different nurses! When Melody arrived we discovered she has a cyst on her gums, she was born with a little extra love. But we are working on getting the "love" removed. She is a great baby and is now starting to gain weight. Elise didn't really care about her the first few times she came to the hospital to see her, but now she just loves her. She always wants to give her loves and is very willing to be helpful when possible. We have had a few "moments" with her. (AKA: sending her to her room!) But were all adjusting and everyday is pretty good. We love Melody and just can't get enough of her!

Baby Update & Funny pics of Elise

So here's the scoop on Melody. My doctor scheduled me to be induced this Friday! Everything looks great so I was surprised when he offered to induce me 3 days before my due date, but I was not about to question getting this baby out! So unless she comes before then I will for sure have a baby by Friday! (Hip hip hooray!)

Also here are some funny pictures of Elise, she just makes me giggle when I see the things she enjoys doing. Or the positions she enjoys laying in. I love Elise so much, and it is never a dull moment when she's around. Lately she's been kissing my tummy and saying "Melody, come here" Or "Melody where are you?" I hope she will enjoy being a big sister. But for now lets just focus on getting to Friday!

Another Funny Story

Brian suggested I tell you all about my latest "incident." So last Friday Brian and I had a much needed date night, so we went to the Jordan River Temple to attend a session. We were in a hurry to try and make the 7:20 session. Now since I'm 9 months pregnant I don't fit into my temple dress so I had to rent one. Those dresses are huge no matter what size you get! So I got my dress hurried into the locker room got dresses and went to the bathroom. I then realized I forgot my family name back at my locker so I waddled back to my locker and grabbed it. The temple worker then scanned my pink card and I was whisked away into the booth where they give your temple name. The nice temple worker asked how I was doing and these were my exact words. "Fine, now that I have my head on strait." And this was her reply, "Did you know your dress is on backwards?" I turned bright red! Since it was just me and her in this booth I turned my dress around, since the dress is huge I could just turn it around like a t-shirt and still keep my modesty. We laughed about it for a minute then we focused back to the reason we were their. We didn't make the 7:20 session because of me, but at least I have a funny story behind it! And for the record my temple dress zips in the back, so I just assumed this one did too! I hope this story brought a smile to your face! Have a great day.

Holy Dang!

Now I think it's my job as a mother to brag about my children, I try not to go overboard because I don't want to come off annoying. But I am proud to say Elise's hair is long enough to french braid! (I know lame post but I think it's cool) I actually took these pictures before she turned 2 but then forgot. Elise has always had amazing hair, and it's about down to her mid back. Her hair is just one of her many amazing features!
