General Conference 2011

I just finished Pres. Monson's Biography and I'm so glad I did it before General Conference. You really get to know this man from almost every aspect. I couldn't put it down after a while. All the funny and spiritual stories. I loved our prophet before I read this book but after reading it I love and appreciate him and all the apostles even more. He he the example of living by the spirit and always acting on those promptings. I know I need to live my life like that and try to follow the spirit. The whole time I was reading this book though I could help but keep his family in the back of my mind, he would be gone for weeks at a time between work and his church calling. His family and especially his wife just kept on and never complained. His wife Frances is a HUGE example to me and how I need to raise my family a support my wonderful husband. He mentions in his book many times he couldn't have done it without his wife standing right next to him and supporting his work in the church. He had opportunities in his life that would have really helped his career and probably received more money, but he always asked the Lord which path he needed to take. Sometimes he was confused why the Lord told him to take the path that didn't quiet make sense. But always followed the Lord. Can you imagine if he had taken another path!? It could have set his life in completely different direction. Brian's Grandpa Bryson had President Monson as his Bishop when he was a youth and young adult. I was sitting right next to Brian as I was reading a short story about his grandpa. I turned to him and said, "I'm reading about your grandpa." Brian just chuckled for a sec then said, "Wait! What?" Kind of funny. But the one thing that really stood out in my mind the whole time reading this book, was that he didn't have an active father. He was lucky enough to have uncles around that stepped in to keep the priesthood in his life. If President Monson didn't have a fully active family growing up and he became Prophet, Then NONE of us have any excuses! I know he is a Prophet of God.

It's a great book, I really recommend it. :)

But on to conference. I didn't get to listen to every talk due to 2 small blonde's in my life :) But what I did hear I of course loved. I love how they continually give us counsel and guidance and lots of encouragement. My top 2 favorite talks though were Elder Scott's touching talk on his wife, family, and marriage. Very tear jerking. Second was Elder Holland, I've enjoyed his talks every conference for the last few years. It's almost as if he's speaking directly to me.

As usual General Conference never disappoints, and is always a success.

30 Week Ultrasound

Just had my 30 week ultrasound. Everything looks great, Baby Ray was very active (Which I know where he gets that from, cough cough Brain!). Plus I'm measuring right on. The placenta has started to move! Now instead of it right on top of the cervix it's right next to! Wahoo! So if all goes well as I grow bigger it should move out of the way in time. But I know there is still a chance it might not. So I'm keeping the positive vibs coming! Even my pessimistic doctor said it's looking like I won't need a c-section! That's a big deal! So at 36 weeks we'll do another ultrasound and see where it's at. Very very happy and excited about this news.

Sick Girl

This was too funny I just had to document it.

Poor Melody is going on day 4 with a temperature. She's been miserable all weekend, but very snugly at least. But last night around 3:00 AM I heard her door open, so I just layed quietly to see if she was going potty or if she would come in our room. She came into our room but walked right past my side of the bed to Brian's bed. She told Daddy she wanted to get in our bed. We decided long ago that our children wouldn't sleep in our bed. Brian very nicely got out of bed and walked her back to her room and rubbed her back. This was very strange, she has never done that before. Then around 6:45 I heard her door open, so I waited to see who came out but no one ever came to my room. So like a good mom I fell back asleep for another 15 minutes. :) But I did eventually get up. I walked to the girls room and saw Elise still sleeping in her room, but no Melody I saw the lights on downstairs and was confused. Brian had already woke around 4:30 and left for boot camp and work, so I know he wasn't downstairs. So I walked downstairs and see Melody curled up on the couch with a pillow and no blanket. Poor girl, I really don't know what she was thinking/ doing. She always comes to get me when she wakes up. She must REALLY not feel well, she kept doing things not like her.

I've debated all day if I should take her to the doctor. Does any other mom's have that problem when their kids get sick? I have a hard time "drawing the line in the sand" and saying "Yes, we need to take her in." I decided to give it one more day to see if she feels better, then I'll take her in if she is still acting miserable. Plus we've been to the doctor A LOT this year between ear infections, pink eye, swallowing a quarter, and strep throat. Did I mention it's only March!? But I'm grateful we have insurance and a great pediatrician that never mocks or questions when I bring my kids in.

Needless to say I've pretty tired of sick kids. :(

Through the Eye's of a 4 year old.

Elise got a camera for Christmas from Potter and Grandma. It's a really cool kids camera that has mega padding on it so when they drop it, it won't break. She has really loved having it. I've enjoyed looking at the pictures she takes, most of which are very random. But it's helps me see what she sees on her level.

Daddy's church ball game.

This is really fun, you can add these funny pictures to your pictures, I guess sister needed a binky.

The latest obsession, Blues Clues. She'd watch it all day if I let her.

Matt and Cami's fish tank

Caught in the act!
At the store
Cute cousin Lily

Sophie!

On the way to Denver, pretty much all you see in Wonderful Wyoming.

Buckle up Woody!

I guess Daddy needed a binky too.

She had other random pictures too, but I thought I'd spare you and just show the cute ones.

Recently I've noticed...

So with my growing tummy I've noticed a few different things this time being pregnant.
1. I wasn't as sick as I was with my girls. I would get sick around 5:00 P.M. and then I would go to bed. Plus I never threw up! :)
2. My hair isn't growing as fast as it did with the girls, which I am slightly bummed about since I'm in the mood for long hair again. :(
3. He is sooooooo low in my stomach! It's painful how low he is! I can feel my lower abdomen muscles stretching in pain.
4. My joints and back HATE ME! I try sleeping with a pillow between my legs but that hardly does anything. I am very grateful for my jetted tub and my chiropractor, it's been a HUGE lifesaver. I'm already waddling, yay for 3 more months of this!
5. I don't sleep as well as I did with my last 2 pregnancy's. When I was pregnant with the girls all I needed to do was have my head hit the pillow and I was gone until morning. But every time I rollover in my bed I wake up, every time the furnace goes off I wake up. Every time Brian moves I wake up. I'm not used to not sleeping well when I'm pregnant, so this has been an adjustment.
6. I've had heartburn, which I did with the others but no chest pain like I had with Melody. But I know I still have a chance of having it since I have 3 more months left. But I do have moments where my chest gets really heavy, Brian thinks they are anxiety. I don't know why I'd be having anxiety, my body is only going through H E double hockey sticks?!
7. Tons of bracston hicks contractions.
8. Full placenta Previa, not just partial like last time. So far though it hasn't given me any problems or restrictions. But I can just feel them coming, this was around the time he restricted my travel to no more than 50 miles from the hospital. My doctor is not hopeful it will migrate out of the way of the cervix. So right now were planning on a c-section memorial weekend (ish). Which scares the Beegeebas out of me! I though am still thinking happy positive thoughts, that maybe the placenta will be good to me and MOVE!
9. I take my glucose test on Monday, but my doctor gave me an alternative to the orange junk. He said I could eat a King size Snickers bar instead! They have the same amount of sugar. The thought of eating a Snickers at 8:00 A.M. is not too exciting to me though, but it's doctors orders, right? :)
10. The best thing though is that were having a BOY! Were of course happy to just have a baby on the way. I'm scared and excited at the same time to get a son. Brian tries to play it cool, but I know he's really excited to get some testosterone in the house. It's been a change to look at the "blue side" at stores and I have to really focus hard to look at boy fabric. It's hard when you've been in "Girl Mode" for the last 5 years to have to suddenly switch your brain.

So there you go, in case you were wondering all the things that were bouncing around in my head. Maybe, and I said MAYBE I might post a prego picture. But most of you know how much I hate prego pictures of myself. Most people in my ward tell me I hardly look pregnant, but I think it's because when you compare me to my friend who is having twins I of course look small!

It's so Fluffy I'm gonna DIE!

So I had this great idea to make these skirts. So cute, right? We'll after making 1 of these I seriously started thinking about taking up swearing. It took me about 10 hours to make one of these! It was so tedious, but after seeing my girls in them it makes it a little bit worth it. Huge kudos to my mom who really did the tedious parts of gathering and un-gathering all these layers. I'm so lucky to have such a great and talented mom.
