Oh geez...

Most people don't know we have the first 2 seasons of the Cosby Show on DVD and Elise will choose it about once a week to watch. I think she likes Rudy the best. On Sunday Melody turned around in sacrament meeting pointed to a black guy and said "Cosby!" Brian and I almost died laughing! Apparently Melody doesn't see too many black guys in person.

Dance, Dance, DANCE!

Elise's first year of dance has come and gone. She LOVED every second of it!
This is some of her classmates with teacher Miss Avalie

Just so cute!

She loved her dance performance and keeps asking me when she can do it again.

Elise did an awesome job! I am so proud of her. This fall she will be attending a new studio. I hope she likes the teacher as much as Miss Avalie.

Yes this is me....our Zumba class did 3 routines for intermission during the recital. I felt a little dumb but then I decided I was proud I did Zumba. I've lost 10 lbs since starting and it does amazing thing for my emotional health too.
Here are all the video's from the recital, mine and Elise's

Oh to be 3....

A few weeks ago the girls and I were driving up Provo Canyon, as we passed Bridal Veil Falls I heard a gasp from Elise. Then she proclaimed this. "Mom! It's Paradise Falls, with Mr. Fredricksen! Mom it's Up!" I asked her if she could see Mr. Fredricksen's house on the top and she sadly told me no. Oh I love this girl!

If you haven't seen up I highly recommend you do.

Please slow down!

Can I first just ask, can time please slow down for a little bit for me! I feel like I've been going a mile a minute for 2 or more weeks now.
Last week the day finally arrived! We made it to girls camp. I just can't say how much I LOVE this calling. Ever since I was in Young Women's I've always thought it would be cool to plan girls camp. Now that I've done it 2 years in a row I have to say it's HARD, but very worth it.
We went to Flaming Gorge, on our way we stopped at the Vernal Temple and ate lunch.
Did I mention my sweet moose came up for a day a half? It was really great to have Brian their.
Overall camp was a great success. All of the girls got along (Priceless) they were very helpful, and no body's raft tipped over on the river. :) We did have a very neat experience Thursday afternoon. The weather that day was rain showers off and on. We had about a 2 1/2 hour gap with no priesthood. During that gap the wind started really bad. It blew the leaders tent over a few times. Then it started pouring on us. We as leaders started to stress out, wondering if we'd get to do our testimony meeting around the campfire, plus if the weather kept going like it was how were we going to cook dinner!? So we said a prayer then started brain storming, we decided we could probably cook dinner in the equipment trailer we brought up. If we had to we could do testimony meeting in our huge 12 man leaders tent. So we ran through the rain and started re-arranging the trailer. Then it started to HAIL! MARBLE SIZE HAIL! So the leaders took refuge in the trailer and yelled to all the girls to stay in their tents! Now we were really stressing! But about 25 minutes later it all cleared up. It was crazy when we'd look up in the sky their was this "blue sky hole" right above our camp. But if you looked to the right and the left of us their were gray storm clouds. We felt so blessed, Heavenly Father heard our prayer. Later we found out a lot of the girls had prayed during the storm too. Just another great reminder we need our Heavenly Father in soooo many ways!

The day after I got back from camp Brian ran his first marathon!

He's been working hard for 8 years to finally achieve this goal. He ran it in 3 hours 34 min. Not bad for his first time! So proud of him.
Now these next 2 events I don't have pictures of :
Brian family decided to run the 5k they had going on during Brian's marathon. Everyone did great. Mike, Brian's dad placed 2nd in his age category! while they were waiting for awards Launa, Brian's mom said her chest hurt then she collapsed. They called 911 and an ambulance took her to a hospital. She's fine now but had to spend about 2 1/2 days in the hospital. The doctors aren't completely sure what happened but they think it was a small heart attack. I'm so glad Launa is doing better. But when Brian called me that day and said he was in his way to the hospital I thought it was for him! Since he did just run 26.2 miles! But I'm glad everyone is ok now and on their way to recovery.
On that same day we did a surprise birthday party for my Dad. My Dad turned 60 back on May 22nd. But on that same day my brother Matt graduated from Dental school and my other Brother Daniel graduated from Law School. So that day was already plenty busy. So all my brothers came in town for my dads 60th birthday! It was a huge success, we did a small party in the beginning with my brothers "roasting" my Dad. Watched some clips from when he was in "Bye Bye Birde" and had a picture slide show from when he was a kid to now. Then had an open house with all my dads friends and family. Since my mom and I were in charge I didn't get any pictures. But if my SIL's post some pictures on their blog I'll steal them and post some for your enjoyment. It was really great for my dad to see all these people who love and care so much for him.
Now do you understand why I want time to slow down for me?
I need a nap! :)
Love you DAD!

Grown Up

Yes the rumors are true, we have grown up furniture! No more couch that's so low you feel like your sitting on the floor. No more love sac, that's really just a HUGE waste of space.

We bought a couch, love seat, chair and automan. They're all real leather and now we have more seating for when family/company comes over.
It's so much better to clean them when the kids spill. We love them and are so very grateful to have nice furniture.

BUSY weekend!

This last weekend was super busy. It started off with Elise dancing in the Pony Express Days. She did great and loved every second of it. She keeps asking when she can do it again.

The next morning Brian, MIL Launa, and BIL Tyler ran in the Pony Express 5K.
Brian beat his Personal Record by about 3 minutes! He finished in 19 min. 20 sec. and placed 9th overall! Plus in his first mile he hasn't ran that fast since middle school! Go Moose!
Then we rushed home to do the Pony Express Parade! Brian and the girls were pioneers for our stake and I was in my Zumba class. Yes I did Zumba the whole parade! I was very very tired.
Then that night I participated in an alumni dance for my old studio, Rocky Mountain Dance. It was fun to see the girls I danced with and attempt to dance again.
This picture is a little out of focus, but try and think of it as "artistic."

I swear I put sunscreen on for the parade, but clearly not enough!
It was a very fun weekend. Now today I'm getting last minute things for Girls Camp! Wish my luck! If I don't come back on Friday, send out the helicopters! :)
