The things you'll do for free.

Yesterday (January 28th) was a free day at the zoo. I was so excited and planning on going for a few days. So when I woke up that morning it of course looked cold but nothing threating. So I got all of us all bundled up and ready to go, and of course as I was leaving it started to snow! I figured though even if we stay for only 10 minutes it's not like we'd be out any money! And it took me forever to get us all bundled up, plus it takes us about a minute to get there from out apartment. So off we went! We all had such a great time. The girls were so great and Elise especially loved seeing everything. Now they of course don't have all the animals out, I can't imagine the elephants playing in the snow. I think Elise's favorite part was the monkeys and gorillas. Especially for free it was well worth it! (On a side note I also found out my stroller mixed with my sketchers and hills is a bad combo, I was slipping all over the place!)

Look What I Did!

Just wanted to toot my own small horn. I made a car seat cover for my Deiters! (FYI Melody's new nickname is Deiters. Elise can't say her L's so her name started off as Medidy, then Didi, now I call her Deiters. Poor child I don't know if she'll ever learn her real name.) But I have to give my mom most of the credit, I can't do any of my projects without my mom. She's either taking care of my kids while I sew or she's helping figure out how to do the project. I love you mamasita! I haven't done a sewing project since before Melody was born, so gold star for me. Ok I'm done with my tooting. (man that could really be taken the wrong way!)

Finally something to blog about...

I've noticed after the holiday season has ended and life gets back to your normal routine I'm just plain boring! Ok maybe just a little boring, we have been busy just nothing amazing to report back yet. Anyways...Brian had Monday off, which he never has in the past so we really took advantage of this momentous occasion. In the morning I got my eye brows waxed. (Always a fun experience, but they do look amazing now!) Then we went looking at houses again. This is the 4th or 5th time we've looked at houses this month, but we've put down offers on 2 homes now so we'll have to wait and see what happens. Then that afternoon we took the girls swimming! This was Melody's first time, she didn't cry but she didn't act happy the entire time too. Elise though loved everything, and this time we really had to keep an eye on her. We would think she was going to the slide and then before we knew it she was on the other side of the place. She's getting more daring (even without cousin Sophie to show her how to do it!) We all had a great time, and the girls slept soooo long that night. (That was mom's favorite part!) Also I wanted to thank Jason and Candice for coming, they are always so nice to be around, ok and they're really fun too!

Help me I'm hooked!

I'm a Esme! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!

I just finished reading the 1st book and I want the 2nd one right now! It took me a while to get into it. (I kept falling asleep until about 1/2 way through) But now I must have the next book! My poor family, they are just going to be neglected until I finish the series. OK I won't be that heartless :) But who knew I was an Esme! I guess it fits.

Such a good hostess

Sorry I've been MIA for a a while, life just gets crazier the older your kids get. But life is still good. I just wanted to share a few pictures of just how cute/crazy my kids have been. The first picture is of Elise showing me where her nose is. The second is a picture of my little twiners, I got those shirts at Children's Place for $1.50! And the 3rd is Melody finding a new purpose for her bib.

Now this last one is Elise being such a great hostess to her "friends" (That's what she calls them). I thought it was so nice of her to give all of them a seat and she had to sit on another chair. This picture just makes me grin!

Last but not least here's a video of Melody laughing. I think when she laughs she sounds like a balloon deflating.

Happy 5 years!

I can't even believe we've been married 5 years! 2 kids and almost a master's degree later, we've lasted this long. I'm so happy we are progressing daily on accomplishing our goals. I remember being first married and talking and planing out when we would start a family, finish school, look for a house etc. I'm so happy to say we are almost there! I love you moose and I can't think of a better life than with you right by my side.
