Shirley Temple

So Saturday night I put curlers in Elise's hair, you know so her hair would be so pretty for Sunday. So this is the result, it kind of looks like I electrocuted my daughter. Don't worry though about an hour after I took out the curlers her hair calmed down. It was very cute though, and I guess it is pretty fun to do her hair like that on occasion. I just don't have the energy right now to do that every week. Oh ya the video is to show how bouncy her hair is, Elise herself became extra bouncy when she realized what her hair could do. Enjoy!

Update

So here's a picture of Elise "napping," She's normally pretty good with nap time but I made a loud noise right by her door and woke her up. I'm hoping she'll just give up and go back to sleep. So anyways here is an up date with her poor "Dobby" hands. I took her into the pediatricians and they decided to pop the blisters and cut off the dead skin. I guess it's supposed to help it heal faster. That process though was pure torture for me and Elise. She of course wailed and wailed the whole time and she started to kick the nurse and the doctor while they were working on her. They did a really good job though considering all the kicking and flailing! I have sooooo much pity for Jessica and Daniel when Sophie has surgery on her wrist! Call me whenever you want to vent about how much they scream and hate being restrained I will totally listen! They told me though (I guess to make me feel better about the whole situation) that the burns are in a really good spot. If they were on the parts of her hand that bend they would have to take her to the burn unit. (Yikes!) So just another blessing in disguise I guess. :)

More Trauma!

So we had some trauma this weekend. Poor Elise was climbing up the steps to my parents side door and put her hands on the metal threshold of the door, before I knew it she was screaming! So I felt the metal and realized it was really hot! (Because it was cooking in the sun all day and it's black!) So we rushed her to the sink and started putting cold water on her hands. She screamed for about 2 hours and all she wanted was mom and bear. It was so cute she would hold bear in one hand and put the other hand in the cold water then she would switch. So after she finally calmed down we put some burn cream on her hands then wrapped them up. Her hands remind me of Dobby's hands (from Harry Potter) after he ironed his hands. She's doing better today but has huge blisters on her hands. We didn't think the burn was bad enough to take her to the ER because they can't really do any more then we can. The way it all happened, I think it was just a fluke. Everyone that I've told how it happened was so shocked and agreed with me that they never would have thought a metal threshold would have been a problem. I've always kept Elise away from the stove and curling iron but never would have thought twice about a door! So all you parents or future parents out there beware of a metal threshold! I am taking her into the doctor today just to make sure everything looks good and it's not infected etc. So I'll keep you posted if anything else strange happens. But Elise has been such a trooper and so brave. I'm very proud of her!

Buddy Boy Chapman

I know I've been posting a lot lately but a lot has been going on. So this Sunday my parents finally decided it was time to take our family dog, Buddy, into the vet. My parents were delaying this because they knew what the doctor would say. Meaning he would need to be put to sleep. The poor dog though has been wheezing and throwing up for a while. So on Monday my Dad took him in, the doctor looked at him and said he had a ton of tumors in his lungs. That's why he's been having those problems. Since he was about 13 years old it was just time to let him go. So my Dad sat with him while he past into dog heaven. So I just wanted to post a few things I loved about our dog.

1. He was always a pup at heart.

2. Loved to give slobbers.

3. Made my daughter laugh.

4. Loved to chase grasshoppers, even if there is nothing there.

5. Just loved attention, in anyway or form!

He was a good dog, even though he tried to hump small children including my own daughter! He was a cute puppy and a great dog. Yes he had his naughty moments, but what dog doesn't!? Thanks Budders, you helped complete our family in many ways. We will miss you!

Big Girl Bed!

My Big Girl Bed!

So Elise is officially in a big girl bed! We went to the best store in the world IKEA and got her a bed. She has been really great. She cries a little bit and goes back to her bed and sleeps. Accept yesterday when I put her down for her nap she just cried and cried and before I knew it I heard rap music instead of the classical music I'd been playing for her. Take a look at what I found. :)

Fun @ the Zoo

So on Friday we went to the Richmond Zoo. This zoo is really neat because you get to feed the animals too. Elise loved this, all though she would try to stick the food in every nook and cranny she could to feed the animals. But it was fun to get close to the animals, I'm also really happy Elise didn't try to sample some for herself too. :)

Cary Street and Maymont

On Thusday Cami, Elise and I went to Cary Street, it's a really neat street just full cute boutiques. Heres a picture of some shirts I got for my girls. I can't wait until I can get a picture of my girls wearing them! Then that afternoon we went to Maymont. Maymont is a huge park with a museam and a petting zoo. Elise loved it! She loved being so close to the animals and seeing the fish in a huge tank. I had her wear her squeaker shoes so we could locate her easily. I still think is funny to watch the people around us as they hear sqeaking but can't figure out that it's coming from her shoes. So here are some more pictures that Cami took for me, she's so talented!

Hanging at the apartment

Most nights we would just chill at the apartment, and Elise quickly showed Matt and Cam what they needed to baby proof. Some of the stuff we would just put up higher and others we would just cross our fingers Elise wouldn't touch them. Also Elise and Matt bonded while playing Xbox, I think that helped Matt see how cool Elise is! :) Elise would bring him the Guitar Hero game almost every night and Elise would dance while Matt played. Such a touching Uncle Neice moment. (Or something like that)

Burger Joint

The day I arrived Matt and Cami treated us to some fine dinning @ 5 guys (I think that's what it's called). Elise really enjoyed the fries. (I swear all that girl eats is carbs!) It was very enjoyable and super greasy!

Our trip to Virginia!

Well we survived our trip to Virginia! I'll be posting a few pictures everyday since I have a ton. I didn't take any though, I just had my trusty camera woman Cami take pictures for the trip. She did a wonderful job too. Thanks Cam! So this picture shows how we survived but sometimes not very gracfully. :)
